Although I spend a great deal of time planning very special custom excursions/experiences here in Italy, I don’t always get to participate…
However, when Cheryl, who had joined me on two tours in the past, planned a visit (to celebrate her birthday!) with her daughter, Jenny, and asked for a wine tasting/cooking class in the Tuscan countryside, I asked if I could come along! (I love any opportunity to visit Chianti Country!)
Together with my wonderful travel partners and Friends of Victoria, Arianna and Alessio (KMZero Tours), a special day was planned and thanks to their team, it was (as always) yummy fun!

Despite the unseasonable spring drizzle we had a marvelous and very delicious time!
Starting from Florence, our intrepid and charming driver/guide, Francesco, drove us outside city limits and into the lovely panorama of Chianti Country. Our first stop was a visit to an exquisite jewel, a medieval monastery…
Then it was time for a “cappuccino” and “dolce” break family-style (with an incredible “postcard worthy” view!) before moving on…
Time to cook pasta and, of course, it’s always with an expert! We pull up to the family-owned agriturismo and are warmly greeted by Martina and Giuliana – the dynamic mother-daughter duo who will (patiently!) instruct us in making three (3) pastas!
Aprons on, rolling pins out – and the reward is a virtual feast! Everything is, of course, homemade or locally sourced…and it’s all absolutely divine! And paired with their wines, WOW!
Before heading back to Florence, a leisurely stroll through one of so many charming villages...
