♥ Can a passionate Italophile find la dolce vita in France? ♥
Si! I’m delighted to announce that I fully intend to explore that possibility and find out firsthand in September!
Not only am I delighted that I will doing my “research” visiting beautiful Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site but, I will be doing so as the guest of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises!
Oui! Cruising the iconic rivers of southwestern France, visiting fabulous the châteaux and vineyards and enjoying the hospitality of an exceptional award-winning river cruise line!
Trust me, it hasn’t been easy to contain my excitement and to keep this under wraps. Needless to say, I am absolutely thrilled and honored!
♥ Merci beaucoup, Uniworld! ♥
If you’ve been following me, you already know that my travels and blogging over the past five years have been focused on my hearts home, Italy. However, like any other wanderlust, that doesn’t preclude the fact that I have other destinations on my wish list.
As an independent travel advisor, I have long been an avid fan of Uniworld. Not only have I assisted travel clients plan their Uniworld River Cruise but, I was fortunate to have had the pleasure of taking two of their river cruises in France and Germany. However, it has been quite a while (7 years to be exact) and, in my book, far too long!

Ever since Uniworld introduced their Bordeaux-Bordeaux Itinerary, I’ve had it on my wish list and radar. The truth is that I love cruises and I particularly love river cruises. You are spoiled and pampered and it’s fantastique!

Every aspect of a Uniworld River Cruise is beyond 5-star luxurious. The itinerary, the service, the cuisine and wine, the amenities are all world class. (I’m looking forward to sharing more tantalizing details in coming months and first hand in September!)
Aside from my own travel dreams and desires, I do have another reason for venturing solo on a river cruise. My hope is that my firsthand experience will inspire and entice other solos (in particular, solo boomer gals) not only to step out of their comfort zone and venture into the world of solo travel… but, to see themselves enjoying the many fabulous rewards of a river cruise.
♥ Let’s hear it for la joie de vivre and ooolala! ♥
Oui! This boomer gal is returning to France, to a completely new destination – and I’m going solo!
I’ve started to do my research to learn more about Bordeaux, and the spectacular châteaux and vineyards we will visit along the Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne. Walking tours, wine tasting…ah, magnifique, oui?
Have you been to Bordeaux? Have you heard of Cadillac? Saint-Émilion? Médoc? Paulliac? I would love to hear from you and we’ll learn more together! I hope you’ll join me as I cruise through a new adventure!?
I’m also in the early planning stage of my pre- and post- cruise days in Bordeaux and I welcome suggestions and opportunities to explore and experience more of this beautiful region of France!
I’ve always dreamt of experiencing the châteaux of France…And now, it will be a reality! And I simply can’t wait to share it with you…
From bon voyage to au revoir…you will be with me every sip and morsel of the way! C’est très bien, n’est pas?
More coming…! À bientôt!
♥ Merci Beaucoup…

Victoria, you make traveling seem so fabuolous! Meraviglioso! and fabuleaux! Maybe you will have to have your Travel Tipz translated as well. I am in the process of having my pocket travel Italian book translated into French. It may be ready for your next trip!
Kathryn,
Well, isn’t traveling fabulous? ;D Hmmm, excellent idea about translation – I actually have book #2 “in my head” and roughly drafted – now to find the time! And, I owe you a review!
We’ll have to “time” our travels to intersect one day!
